What's happening one thing is is a labor force shrinks as as jobless -- the disability ranks. And I said as we have these bad these people that are dropping out of the labor force well where they're going the -- -- this said had the labor. Had the labor force not declined unemployment would have been eight point 3%. In April instead of eight point 1% the same month more than 245000. Workers applied for Social Security disability benefits. Nearly 90000 of them were enrolled according to new data from the Social Security Administration. Many of those who quit looking. -- they had signed up for disability benefits so far this year nearly one million workers have applied to get on the disability program of course the Social Security Administration more than a third will eventually be enrolled. Almost 90000 workers and rolled from an April pushing the total for new enrollees about 333000. In the first four months of the year. Had the spouse's independence. Investor's business they've reported more than five million workers and their families have enrolled in the disability program since president broke Barack Obama took office now. What about being unemployed also make you disable. Well I don't understand that and also Leo food stamps are gonna. Am what we do know commercial. For crying out loud are taxpayers dollars going to pay for the Smith commercials that ran -- out. Well -- yeah -- -- just what we have. What we have right now is big government totally out of control. It's a good government they're bigger period if you want socialism in America. Or charge pitcher got a country collectively. And all of your look so I have a vote if you want. Socialists you want. That the bodies these these successful people. You ought to have more people unemployed and lived in all the Corcoran people who are paying taxes. If you want bigger government. If you want discovered -- more in -- And the socialist state increase and become more like a European country but I would vote for Barack Obama. -- -- -- to -- that. If you think cat but further structure of any better you'd better. You don't talking -- -- talked to people and go vote this year. No question and all of these things are are culminating Fran in happily die your outlook as far as where the the economy in the stock market are going and yet people are walking in our door every day. And they're getting the same advice they were given back from eighty you're 2000 in this big bull market. And these are people who were fifty plus who are hitting for retirement or already retired I just -- one example. 71 year old man comes in this week with one of the big major brokerage houses you see -- -- all the time. Eighty percent of his portfolios in stocks. I mean yeah. Isn't this is a man who's gonna he's living on his. Taken income out of his principal and he could stand to lose half his life savings and run out of money here in the future. And that is the kind of advice people are being given when there are ways there are instruments out there and available to people. Where they can guarantee they don't run out of money income. Guarantee that they can't lose money if the market takes a bit and have a shot at making some good rates -- return when markets go up. Yeah it's important that obviously there is that you guys -- -- you know I'm seventy true I I only work about. A sixteen hour days and -- and I and I love every every part of it. But right now it's essential importance for for all my peer group -- Really look at themselves and take a balanced look at look at all of their options. Most people -- would have been dead structured bonds -- you know real estate investments and all against the -- at all -- like. What most people don't know what she YouTube you'd Sony -- people -- go and we know it Gartner financial. There is an alternative. That there's a trade body alternative. Backed by insurance companies. That provide true of the safety net for seniors and provide our income and -- charge for years. What what about the risk of the market and and and be -- options that may be seniors. Do not know about there's about at this about dropping it was embedded last -- that should have been here EU all the products. My friends on the product -- -- portfolio. Because. You know every seniors scared to death of running out of money in their retirement years. The more money we have at risk of remorse here we are -- is just very important that seniors look at other options. Ask the questions. -- and be able to make good decisions it the more knowledge we get the better decisions would make it I don't know. That get all the good that's what we do a target of financial all across the country -- And and and and you know -- your adult -- of the vote of the violence survivors specialists. That we have across across this country and and the great thing -- about what you guys do you usual figures all the options. You make sure that they don't look good the -- -- the -- for the week the so called options are good and -- you. You you let them make their own decision and and belt that looked at a frantic and we've also releasing your should be able to -- stretch free. -- -- -- -- I was gonna say are getting hit a break here when we come back we're gonna. Dig into some of the properties on some of the things we're talking -- -- kind of have gotten into some specific -- come back and talk more about some specific retirement ideas on comments -- retirement planning in a moment. So scary. Our Saturday propping up state with scattered showers storms possible through this evening and tonight. And I think -- it. You've got in what badly three unbelievable. -- speak like they are. It is amazing -- and we -- -- off talking about retirement planning here in in what people are faced with. And and -- a lot of times we went on the show -- least we we talk about what's going on with the economy and we're we're short absorbed look at its broad brush on things that. Tom I'm seeing more and more people walking my office in the first thing they wanna talk about his you know I'm scared. That I'm gonna run out of money and remember the good old days when might -- on my grandparents they had pensions that -- notre nice thing to have a pension and what people don't understand. Is there are. Strategies out there that amount to. A pinch and on steroids because the problem with pensions of course was first of all. Once you you took the pinching in and in a new ties and money of course pensions and -- The was allegedly knew it ties -- it never grew which means that you are now vulnerable to inflationary pressure and then if something happens to the -- of the new attempt they they passed away -- -- -- just stops for the spouse and end it there there's no way to. To recoup what might have been there otherwise so when you talk a little bit about -- about some of these new strategies and how they work. Well. Thank you -- and it is why I got a bit of about ten years ago because so many in my current work. Able -- -- and -- it -- over the years they've they will that -- insurance companies who have come out what they'll let me explain what the insurance company it is it is it is commercial product. Such strict eviction -- The rescue but. Taken by. These these the the -- it's taken by the insurance company investor to promote a pro stock market as we certainly belt. And so they've over the years the bulk fixed index abilities. Which. Makes sense to you and I -- so I I have the products my friends have the products are part of my retirement income planning. And and it is just it just it's something that they're -- safety and go there and and and and and an independent arbitration. I feel ashamed -- -- be sure that my money safe -- want. Number two problem -- how much how much for tarmac and it. Battle that. -- that trust bought half. But I don't wanna put that principle it is at risk cannot I -- releasing your Google slave life. That's kind of the war that we do the work that you would go through social well and -- -- -- all -- takeover plan to take thank you get take. Are getting knowledge and information about always well. Good -- said the use of open Tony Bennett idiot what the plan. Will always be a genius we'll go play. And and I think that every senior should have a plan. Two biggest let's make sure the Serb. Their plan as well as they've got help put that plan to ensure that they don't run out of body of their senior year. And I think you get the appropriate word to ensure. Has so many people that come and talk to us and say if we could just found a way that we can take you know 44 and a half 5% of their money. And you know have that guarantee that we could -- of the money because the thing the unknown is how long ago Malia. And we would have such peace of mind. And they've heard this theory in that theory in -- just insure. -- what is it when you know there's ten different companies out there that will just ensure that they would pay you four and a half percent. On your retirement money for the rest your -- -- -- -- -- of regardless of the investment results and their life. Well that must be a scammer on issues because there's a whole industry out there that. That don't want these people to know about it apparently because they there's a whole industry that wants people to take too much risk with their money and it's insane if you got enough money to have a comfortable retirement. They just keep taking Reyes just so that you'll have the opportunity to lose at all one day. And it makes so much sense does it. And and and and that's why -- -- of luxury list that is that's why -- starter partner financial because. Our job instead we have only offered by any true. Of financial. Special across the country that we can't -- You -- don't got to be number one and number true. And and we educate seniors what we do not know usually. So many people there every day at your option is sure -- the Greenville Spartanburg area. That they're you're educating people. Knowledge is power. Most people have don't have a background -- financial background of understanding all the ins and out so a bit desperate strategies and whatever they've made being your annuities -- insurance sparked how they work. And and they need to be able to -- down we're both professional people knowledgeable people who want to educate them. Give them the information and show them the options shoulder restraint -- -- just so that they can make -- better decisions. But Schwartz. The interest being paid Burke -- -- the cost of living increase. Yeah yeah you're all of that and then let the actual truth is now. The bank should although the money markets and the banks they almost nothing. End and and and that's why. Of these -- fiction index annuities are gaining in popularity. Because. Dean essentially that the league can be kind of an idea how how he's worked in most people don't understand all all of a fixed indexed annuity guys as two components to -- essentially. One is instead of you owning a mutual fund portfolio or whatever you taking the risk. You transfer the risks to the insurance company and they use a strategy that tracks various indices like the S&P in the NASDAQ in the the Dallas so forth. And whatever returned that index does any given year you could keep most of this so the growth mechanism inside of it. Is just tracking the indices but in news is what makes it so dramatically different than just for example buying indexed mutual fund. Is that there's a guaranteed that the war stick to do any given year is zero. He cannot lose money so the first thing the guarantee is that it is kind of like homeowners insurance they're saying. We're we're insuring that that this can't lose money but you have an opportunity to make many of the market -- -- to go out so that's part line. But they also have. Every year that there's a gain in this in the index if you're taking income you're gonna get raise the following year by that amount. So it now you have inflationary hitch which you can't have we just -- tiny pension. And they're via the now having settled at. Do you fear of losing your money worries you call Phillips and Tony and 8676768. For a complimentary consultation. Welcome back to concentrate our planning Philip -- Tony dale and today we have the while playing quarterback in Fran and Brett Harkins and with us and we hope we still with us. One of the things that we run into one of the things that we run into. Is that as. The interest rates go down and seniors have harder and harder time you know making ends meet with the low interest rate environment. There are more susceptible to scams. One of the reasons were associated with friends marketing is the company's that he and it's not all we do with the company's that he deals with. He fits those companies and make sure that those companies are companies that. He would put his money -- this and that he'll staked his reputation now. But I -- lately we've had this terrible scam where this fellow was apparently sold everybody on buying -- the only thing was he didn't listen over. And has some just people coming in. Couple people now came in lost a tremendous amount of money talks but but but. Seniors are susceptible to Tony because I was talking to one that I just sort of kidding with them and they say they they not want look at something. Listen to take a little bit more risk because they. Are getting out one person and a NASA will have about an inverted Yugoslavian -- blast and fun and it that was a joke and they were damaged and now be interest in man. -- and and it was a -- Look you can't take that battery -- with your life savings. So what we do is we make sure that when you talk with us and you're dealing with any company you know. When you're dealing with Franklin Templeton well you you even know who these guys are your statements are coming from and -- not. Telling you -- we are investing with Franklin Timbaland in buying a house only key way. Yours you can call Franklin Templeton go to their website or nine will be on the statement. But you don't have any doubt where the money -- and we my picture and try our best to make sure that you feel comfortable. Bring in your children you know let's look at this explore the situation. And make sure that the one thing we won't more than anything else is that you have peace of mind. And if your play in this. Traditional. Game where when the stock markets that you're scared today than when it's down you're scared today it. You know that's that's a terrible game to play you don't have to do that we wanna give you peace and man in your retirement years. Somehow right there we lost friend on the phone so if he calls back and putting back on I think and maybe was probably one of my fat finger should have been the wrong button. Wouldn't be the first time. Must be rough but they're playing around with Manning boys and going to -- enough. -- I have other things to do it. One of the things I see a lot. When people come in they'll bring their statements. And -- when you coming just you know what happens I am. Probably never talked about this if you when you come to cinema felt when I first thing we do is we start asking you a lot of questions because our goal is. To try to understand what it is you're trying to achieve what your situation is and so forth but part of this is they will bring their statements from their current investment. Strategy of where they are. And I will ask them things like this could you tell me what your strategy for risk management is. And he'll get his blank look on their face and while I really don't know. Would you know for example in what proportion of of stocks -- equities you have vs things like bonds -- fixed assets. Well. I don't know he he said that were sort of and it's been kind of a moderate sort of portfolio will what does that mean well I'm not really sure. Trees start looking at the statement and ask you start realize these people don't even understand themselves a lot of the times what this what's on the statement again every month. And one of the things I've noticed frequently is they don't understand what share class when their -- mutual funds they are buying. So let me just give you this one this is a very good thing to do refusing to word. When you look at your statement and it's got these mutual funds and says the letter CE -- And then you're gonna have another letter CL AB. -- for -- classes. A lot of the bigger brokerage investment firms. Automatically put people -- what -- called a shares. And that BP CC LA that means you haven't they share. And what it means is that you paid an upfront commission. Of anywhere from four to 7%. On that a share plus ongoing management fees. Almost -- -- -- that you -- no had a look at that statement you don't even know that now some people do some of the more savvy investor -- bad. But a lot of people are never even it's never -- explained to him that there are options of different -- to share classes that's an important thing understand so. When you come and see us. If you're gonna learn some things that are important bits of information knowledge is powers France and and another thing happened when you come to -- yes. We first of all we tell you about things historically that have gone on in the past and how that. Gives us ideas where things are going we have done a lot of research on. The history of markets and market cycles and market bubbles and understanding history gives you a chance of seeing where things are going. And seeing more things were and are going is what you need to do if you're planning to get through the next twenty or thirty years in your life. So even if you don't end up taking our recommendations and not everybody does. And we certainly don't they were pressuring him to do it. Even if you don't do that you'll benefit. From coming to visit. Sometimes you may have to wait a week or two to get in to say yes and I was thinking about that that they and really the reason that he is. Is there'll. Planning if you're the kind of person that -- -- inverted Yugoslavian -- lots of fun. There's a lot of people out there that they had been to sell you one they'll take enormous risk with your money but this. There -- less. -- advisors out there that are really safety conscious with your retirement years and I. I'm not the kind of person that wants to have a conversation with a client that they lost 30% of their life -- I just have to throw this in because this happened to me I was having lunch with a friend of mine. Who is actually an advisory. For one of the bigger firms we were talking less safe money investing and what I do and so forth. And he said mania I really wish I could show people more of those that are -- really doesn't let us. Do hole and that's incredible I mean think about that for saying if it if you work for some plays an -- in you know what's best for somebody that you can't do it because that's not the strategy coming down from New York. I mean. If if you're not working with an advisor who as complete leeway to sell you whatever you need personally. That peacefully -- that -- here with your with the wrong for people don't understand and this is important though most of these large brokerage companies are publicly traded companies. Think about that per second what it means. Actually. Is there. Most of their loyalties to the stock colder in the profit margin. -- And therefore there are some upper level management guys in the New York someplace that did this. Given the word down to these local branches saying okay here's your products were doing here's what I want you to show people we just got to block of 101000 shares of this push it. Well that's not what we do. While we do is. Their goal is to have -- be meetings with their clients when we have happy meetings -- clients feel. -- easily -- to refer us to their brands that work. You know most of their clients not say they have number cost just come from referrals from happy clients. And so I'm not there to push something where a year later someone ready to shoot me. I'm there to give them some were a year later they -- buys a you know that was a good decision -- -- I had a good year haven't had to worry about these things about the way uncle made it wants to talk to me. And yet it still a lot of self. We just ran out of time let me remind you again how to get a hold of us it's not hard at all. You can call us 806876768. Again. 80687676.
